A unique public-private partnership

Team Barrow is a unique public-private partnership that brings together the skills, funding and capabilities of the Government, local Government, BAE Systems, businesses and the community.

This collaborative approach puts Barrow’s community at the centre while ensuring the delivery of a vital government priority.

We have funds and relationships that can truly make a difference within the town, but on their own, they won’t be enough to deliver all the change we need. Therefore, we need to use these funds to their maximum effect, leveraging additional funding from the public and private sectors and using our knowledge, networks and influence to maximum effect.

We expect to see:

Substantial population growth

Thousands of new homes across the region, primarily in Barrow

Continued growth at BAE System’s Barrow site

Meet the board

The Delivery Board has an independent Chair, former Cabinet Secretary Dr Simon Case, with members drawn from local public services, private enterprises and the voluntary sector, and representatives from central Government, Westmorland and Furness Council and BAE Systems.

The Board is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of transformational change in Barrow.
