Better transport links to improve connectivity in and out of Barrow are crucial in helping to strengthen the town’s economy and increase its attractiveness as a thriving place to live and work.
This applies to the road and rail network, as well as the sea. At the Port of Barrow, ambitious plans have recently been unveiled that demonstrate how it will support and leverage the huge investment coming into the town.
The port is an integral cog in the delivery of submarines.
Its first project, known as the EnergyDock, will help power the town’s advanced engineering sector, as well as being the UK’s largest floating solar installation.
